CORE-CLIMAX 1st Capacity Building Workshop

Dear colleagues,

Please be informed on the 1st Capacity Building workshop of the FP7 project CORE-CLIMAX (http://coreclimax.eu). The CORE-CLIMAX project coordinates the identification of available and future physical Earth Observation measurements, which can be reconciled with previously existing data records, to form long time series.

The objectives of the workshop are to provide guidance and expertise, to train people on the use of climate information and its associated uncertainty, and to provide generic tools to build the bridge between the climate information and the users' need.

The workshop will take place at the FMI Head Quarters, Helsinki, Finland on 19 and 20 March 2014. The content of the workshops is:

  • Day 1, Morning: User friendly products for Climate Services
  • Day 1 Afternoon: Reanalyses products and data assimilation for Climate Services
  • Day 2, Morning: Which data are suitable for your application? - Support tools & info to make choices
  • Day 2, Afternoon: Following general validation strategies in your application

The targeted audience for this training course is researchers involved in the generation of ECVs/CDRs, and/or in the generation of reanalysis data as well as producers and users of climate services from all EU countries.

The training course is free of charge, and participants are expected to arrange their own travel and subsistence costs. CORE-CLIMAX will provide all necessary training materials free of charge and provide all other necessary assistances.
