VITO

The Flemish institute for technological research (VITO) provides the business world and governmental agencies with high level services and multi-disciplinary assistance in applied research and development. VITO is active in the fields of environment, energy and advanced materials. One of its 8 Units, the “Remote Sensing and Earth Observation Processes (TAP)” Unit, focuses on environmental monitoring by means of Earth observation. Core activities include: (i) space borne low resolution image processing for global vegetation monitoring, (ii) application development based upon low, medium and high resolution airborne and space borne images, and (iii) the development of new remote sensing systems, platforms and instruments.
